Disrespect towards Sikh Railway officer in Mumbai must not go unpunished: AISSF writes to Ravneet Bittu

Chandigarh, 17 August, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

Patron of All India Sikh Students Federation Bhai Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, President Adv. Parminder Singh Dhingra, strongly condemned the recent incident involving passengers Aniket Bhosale and Chief Ticket Inspector Jasbir Singh on the Church Gate-Virar Fast AC train in Mumbai.

The altercation escalated from a simple argument to a quarrel, during which Mr. Bhosale disrespected and mistreated Mr. Jasbir Singh, who hails from District Hoshiarpur in Punjab.

Expressing outrage at the discriminatory behavior towards a Gursikh officer carrying out his duties diligently, Bhai Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad and Adv. Parminder Singh Dhingra has penned a letter to Union State Railway Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, advocating for appropriate legal action.

Emphasizing that traveling without a ticket is a violation of Indian Railways Rules, they underscored the unacceptable nature of Mr. Bhosale’s actions towards Chief Ticket Inspector Jasbir Singh.

During the distressing incident, captured on video, Mr. Bhosale even went to the extent of pulling Mr. Jasbir Singh’s beard, a profound act of disrespect towards an Amritdhari Sikh. Such humiliating treatment of Sikhs in public spaces is utterly reprehensible and cannot be tolerated.

All India Sikh Students Federation urged immediate intervention by Railway State Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu to safeguard the rights of minority Sikhs residing outside Punjab and ensure their dignified treatment and livelihood security.

In conclusion, All India Sikh Students Federation demanded swift and decisive action be taken in this matter to prevent the recurrence of such deplorable incidents
