Affirming that Budget 2024 will bring “happy days” for youth, women, farmers, MSME and salaried class, BJP National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill has said that “plan, provide, progress and prosper” is the theme of Budget. While giving his reaction on the union budget, Shergill said that this budget has a lot for every section of society.
“Jobs, internships, financial support for youth, credit guarantee for MSME, push for agriculture infrastructure, earmarking 11 lakh crore for infrastructure, abolition of angel tax and new tax regime for salaried class by increasing deduction limits, makes this budget progressive, reformative, visionary and historic”, he asserted.
While stating that since the Modi government understands the needs and potential of young India, the Budget 2024 has added “turbo jets” to the dreams and ambitions of India’s youth.
He said the provision of Rs 1.48 lakh crore for education, employment, and skilling allocated to 4.1 crore youth over the next five years is a path-breaking initiative. Shergill applauded the FM’s announcement of a new centrally-sponsored scheme for skilling 20 lakh youth over the next five years.
Shergill said that farmers of Punjab will hugely gain from the budget that 1.54 lakh crore has been earmarked for the agriculture sector. “After the increase in MSP on 24 major crops last month, now this major announcement of 1.54 lakh crore, Punjab farmers will do Bhangra”, he said.
BJP Spokesperson remarked that the higher education loan of up to Rs 10 lakh with an annual interest subsidy of 3 per cent is a great initiative.
“Under the scheme, as many as one lakh students will receive e-vouchers directly for an annual interest subsidy of 3 per cent on the loan amount. This initiative will not just ease the financial burden on students pursuing higher education but will also help in improving the access to quality education”, he added.
Shergill also said that the rise in cancer cases across the nation particularly in the context of Punjab, is a big cause of worry, while adding, “But now with the government giving exemption of three key Cancer Treatment Medicines from the Customs Duty is a huge step towards easing the cost of treatment.”
Shergill also hailed the government for announcing three schemes for employment-linked incentives, which include giving one month’s salary (Direct Benefit Transfer) to all the new employees entering the workforce benefiting 2.1 crore youth, job creation in manufacturing and support to employers scheme aimed at encouraging 50 lakh additional employment.
“Budget 2024 will open doors of immense possibilities for the country’s farmers (Annadata’s).
The digital survey of Kharif crops using digital public infrastructure in 400 districts of the country, public support-based credit cards to be issued in five states and the National Cooperation Policy for employment generation and growth of rural economy are indeed crucial towards making India as Viksit Bharat”, he stated.
