Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught a Halqa Patwari Naveen posted at village Pinana district Sonipat for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the ACB said the accused Patwari has been arrested on the complaint of Ramkishan, a resident of village Pinana, district Sonipat.
Giving further details, he said that the complainant has approached the ACB and alleged that the accused Patwari has demanded Rs 5,000 in lieu of mutation of land belonging to his family. The complainant had also recorded the conversation on his cell phone while the accused patwari was demanding this bribe.
After verifying the complaint, an ACB team has laid a trap and arrested the accused Patwari red-handed while taking Rs 5,000 as a bribe from the complainant in the presence of two independent witnesses. The ACB team has recovered tainted money of Rs 5000 from the accused.
In this regard, a case under the Prevention of Corruption act has been registered against the accused Patwari at ACB police station Rohtak. Further investigation was under progress.
