Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the AAP government was creating chaos in Punjab with its maverick decisions which were leading to administrative collapse .
Talking to newsmen here after holding a meeting with regard to preparation for the Maghi Mela, the SAD president said the government was directly responsible for forcing PCS Officers to move on mass casual leave.
He said tackling corruption was utmost necessary, but it must be done by following the rules of procedure. “The fact that the government has proceeded against officers without seeking approval from the competent authority is against rules of governance. This should not happen”.
Mr Badal said the revenue officers had also gone on mass casual leave to express solidarity with the PCS association. “The revenue officers Association has also accused the government of adopting an extortionist attitude. This needs to be looked into by an independent agency”.
Asserting that chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was directly responsible for this state of affairs, Mr Badal said “there seems to be a breakdown in communications between the chief minister and the bureaucracy. This is because of the absence of the chief minister from the state for long periods as well as subletting of governance to Arvind Kejriwal‘s clique”.
Answering a query on Rahul Gandhi‘s Bharat jodo yatra which is entering Punjab tomorrow, the SAD president said it was shameful that Punjab Congressman were falling over each other to please Rahul Gandhi. He said instead of indulging in this kind of cheap sycophancy, they should tell Punjabi why they had never questioned Rahul Gandhi about his family‘s role in attack on Sri Darbar Sahib as well as the genocide of Sikhs in 1984.
Mr Badal said Rahul Gandhi also should clarify his stand on the SYL Canal during his march in Punjab besides apologising for his family‘s role in robbing Punjab of its river waters first by handing over water to Rajasthan and then by ordering construction of the SYL canal.
