Jalandhar, Dec 7 2024 (Yes Punjab News)
Punjab Punjab Horticulture and Defence Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Friday laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art fire station building at 120 Feet Road.
The project, costing Rs. 1.15 crore, aims to enhance fire safety measures in the Jalandhar West Assembly segment.
Addressing a gathering, the Minister highlighted the significance of the new facility, stating that it will drastically reduce response time during fire emergencies.
“This fire station is a gift to the residents of Jalandhar West. It will be equipped with high-tech firefighting equipment and staffed with trained personnel to strengthen the administration’s ability to handle fire exigencies,” he said.
Spanning 40×110 square feet, the station will house a fleet of firefighting vehicles and the construction is expected to be completed within four months. Previously, fire assistance had to be dispatched from distant locations, causing delays.
Mr. Bhagat lauded the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, for prioritizing urban infrastructure development. He assured the public that adequate funds have been allocated for such projects to improve city facilities.
Prominent attendees included Pawan Hans, Harsimran Singh Bunty, Ajay Kaul, and others who commended the government’s proactive measures. They stated that this project is aimed to provide much-needed safety and assurance to the constituency’s residents.
