Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla has demanded in writing to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann that action should be taken against Akali leader Virsa Singh Valtoha for threatening and character assassination of Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh Ji of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo. He has written a letter to CM Bhagwant Mann demanding strict action against him.
He wrote that “Sri Akal Takht Sahib has been leading the entire Sikh community religiously and politically since the time of the sixth Patshah and every devout Sikh is sincerely devoted to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.”
Mr Aujla demanded that the Chief Minister of Punjab, who is also the Home Minister of the state, should personally take cognizance of the video released last night by Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh ji so that Valtoha can be punished for the despicable act done with the Jathedar.
Sardar Aujla said that these are the Takhts which have been under the command of Jathedars like Jathedar Akali Phula Singh and even Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab could not raise his eyes in front of them.
Mr Aujla has again appealed to Bhagwant Mann, who is also the Chief Minister and Home Minister of the state, as a humble Sikh, to take appropriate action against the so-called Akali leaders who are not respecting the dignity of Takht Sahib and the position. Valtoha is still not hesitating to speak on social media. So take appropriate action against him so that in future no person can dare to rise and disturb the dignity of this great throne.
He demanded that a case should be registered against Valtoha under stringent sections and a thorough investigation should be conducted to find out on whose orders he is threatening Jathedar Sahib so that the entire Sikh community can see the opponents being exposed.
He also said that ‘the personal attack on Jathedar Sahib by the Shiromani Akali Dal leader is an insult to the entire Sikh community, for which the Sikh community will never forgive the Akali Dal leaders who call themselves the representative organization of the Panth.’
