Haryana ACB arrests two EPFO Officials for Accepting Rs.2-lakh as Bribe

The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two officials of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Enforcement Officer Mukesh Khandelwal and Assistant Commissioner of PF Nilanjan Gupta, on charges of accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh. The officials allegedly demanded the bribe in exchange for settling a complaint related to provident fund (PF) issues at a school.

The ACB team caught Mukesh Khandelwal red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of ₹2 lakh from the complainant.

Complaint and Arrest Details

According to a government spokesperson, a complaint was received by the ACB, in which the complainant accused EPFO Enforcement Officer Mukesh Khandelwal and Assistant Commissioner Nilanjan Gupta of demanding ₹2 lakh to resolve a PF-related issue concerning the complainant’s school. After verifying the details of the complaint, the ACB team devised a plan to trap the accused. Khandelwal was apprehended while accepting the bribe, with the entire operation being conducted under careful surveillance.

Legal Action and Investigation

Both Mukesh Khandelwal and Nilanjan Gupta were arrested, and a case has been registered against them at the ACB office in Rohtak. Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and conduct a thorough investigation into the case. The Anti-Corruption Bureau is committed to ensuring that all facts are uncovered, and strict action will be taken against those involved.

Public Appeal by ACB

In a statement, the ACB spokesperson urged the public to report any instances of bribery by government officials. Citizens can inform the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau through its toll-free numbers, 1800-180-2022 and 1064, if any official demands a bribe in exchange for government services.
