Singer Sonu Thukral has filed a police complaint amid the controversy surrounding the recently released music video of ‘Jugni’, featuring actor Jacqueline Fernandez, alleging that a disputed clip from the song has been edited using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is being circulated online.
The official music video of ‘Jugni’ was released on July 15. Soon after its release, some viewers claimed that a scene in the video showed a wardrobe malfunction, following which short clips from the sequence began circulating widely on social media.
The circulation of the clips sparked criticism from sections of viewers, who questioned the inclusion of the scene in the final version of the music video. The makers later blurred or removed the portion in question from the video, but the clips continued to spread online.
Thukral has now claimed that the circulating footage has been digitally manipulated and that an AI-generated version of the clip is being shared on social media.
In a post on Instagram, the singer shared a video from a cyber cell office and informed followers about filing a police complaint in connection with the matter.
“I have filed a police complaint regarding my song ‘Jugni’. The clip has also been edited using AI, and the AI-generated version of the clip is being circulated further. I will talk about it publicly soon,” he wrote.
Jacqueline Fernandez and the makers of ‘Jugni’ have not issued any official statement regarding the controversy so far.
The track features Jacqueline Fernandez and has been sung by Sonu Thukral and B Praak. The music has been composed by MNLTX and Avvy Sra, while the lyrics have been written by Fxrzii. The music video has been directed by Arvvindr S Khaira and mixed and mastered by Yograj Singh.
