The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has started nominating undergraduate students of B.Tech (Agril. Engg.) with paid internship in leading industries from this academic year as per the approval from the academic council of PAU.
Under that initiative, this college has achieved another milestone in campus placements with Vishal Sood, a 2026 B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) graduate, securing a coveted position with Amazon at an annual package of Rs 20 lakh. Besides this, many students have secured top placements in leading companies like Escorts Kubota Limited, International tractors, and King Exports.
Vishal was initially selected for a six-month internship at Amazon with a monthly stipend of Rs 1.10 lakh. Impressed by his outstanding performance, leadership, and operational skills during the internship, the company extended him a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) for the post of Manager – Operations.
Congratulating the student, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, said that Vishal’s achievement reflects the University’s commitment to providing quality education, practical exposure, and industry-oriented training, enabling students to excel in globally reputed organizations.
Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, COAET, described the achievement as a testament to the dedication of students, and the continuous efforts of the Training and Placement Cell of the College in nurturing technical excellence and professional competence and tapping newer avenues for job opportunities for B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) students while maintaining liaison with all the knowledge partners and recruiters.
Dr Satish Kumar Gupta, Incharge, Placement Cell, said the selection of Vishal Sood by Amazon is an encouraging development for our placement programme and would inspire junior students to enhance their technical and communication skills, and aspire to build successful careers with leading multinational organizations.
Dr Saurabh Ratra, Member, Placement Cell, highlighted the role of the Placement Cell in preparing students through training programmes, aptitude sessions, mock interviews, and industry interactions. He mentioned that Vishal’s achievement is an outcome of these efforts.
