MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla raised his voice in Parliament today to start the Software Technology Park in Amritsar which is ready since 2022. He demanded the Electronics Information Technology Minister to give a date for its start. He said that to make Amritsar an IT hub, it should be started as soon as possible.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said in Parliament that the Software Park of Technology in Amritsar is almost ready in 2022. He said that Amritsar is located near Central Asia and it is a 2 to 3 hour flight journey from here.
Central Asia countries need software and due to its proximity and having all the facilities, Amritsar can become an excellent software exporter. He asked if the minister can give a date in this regard as soon as possible. If the IT Park of Amritsar is made functional, then it can become a good hub for software export.
He said that according to Minister Jitin Prasad, if the already built IT hubs have become busy cities, then they will be decongested to reduce the crowd, then Amritsar should be given top position for that because Amritsar is capable of becoming an IT hub in every way.
He said that a Software Technology Park has been built on Mehta Road in Amritsar which is just waiting to become functional. MP Aujla said that hundreds of children from Amritsar go to cities like Mohali, Bangalore to work in IT, but if there is an IT hub in their own city then the border area will also develop and those young men will not have to go out for jobs.
Technology Minister gave a positive answer
Giving a serious reply in this matter, Electronics Information Technology Minister Jitin Prasad said that Sri Amritsar Sahib is on the priority of the government.
Export is already happening there. He said that till now 57 out of 65 Software Technology Parks are in Tier Two and Tier Three cities. In this matter, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnavi said that the Software Technology Park of Amritsar is ready and its functionality will start soon.
