Continuing its tradition of setting new benchmarks in the fields of education, innovation and research, the Central University of Punjab, under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari, has achieved remarkable success in the recently published national and international rankings.
The University has achieved a new milestone with exceptional performance in two major rankings ‘India Today Ranking 2024’ and ‘Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2024’. In the 2024 edition of the India Today Best College Survey, CU Punjab secured the 27th spot in the list of Top General (Government) Universities in India.
Additionally, the university ranked 2686th out of 30,000 Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) globally, placing it among the top 10% of HEIs worldwide in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2024.
These achievements reflect the university’s commitment to excellence in various aspects. The Webometrics Ranking is the largest academic ranking that evaluates 30,000 Higher Educational Institutions based on Presence, Visibility, Transparency, and Excellence, while the India Today survey is acclaimed Rankings of HEIs in India that assesses more than 1700 Indian HEIs on parameters such as Reputation & Governance, Academic & Research Excellence, Infrastructure & Living Experience, Personality & Leadership Development, Career Progression & Placement, Objective Score, and Perceptual Score.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari congratulated the faculty, staff, students, research scholars, and stakeholders, dedicating these accomplishments to their hard work and dedication.
He emphasized that the university’s performance in these rankings is a testament to its progress in academics, research, innovation, community outreach, and various performance indicators. The Central University of Punjab has consistently performed well, receiving an ‘A+’ grade from NAAC in its second cycle of assessment and being featured in the top 100 universities of India in the NIRF rankings for five consecutive years. These accolades highlight the high-quality teaching and research environment at the university.
