6 Narcotic Smugglers, including 3 foreign nationals arrested by Jalandhar Police – 2.32 Kg Heroin seized

In a major breakthrough the Jalandhar (Rural) Police has arrested six narcotic smugglers, including three foreign nationals (Nigerians), with 2.32 kilograms Heroin besides seizing 88 Kilograms of Poppy Husk.

Divulging the details, the Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal said that on a tip off that narcotic smugglers were bringing lot of Heroin in the district CIA Staff had organized checking on National Highway a village Dayalpur. He said that during the checking the Police party intercepted an Innova car PB-46-G-3411.

Mr. Mahal said that the driver of the car revealed his identity as Nishan Singh s/o Kashmir Singh r/o Mohalla Kazi Kot Road, Tarn Taran, whereas the person sitting on the adjoining seat revealed his identity as Harpreet Singh s/o Paramjit Singh r/o Mohalla Kazi Kot Road, Tarn Taran.

The Senior Superintendent of Police said that the checking of vehicle was done in presence of DSP, Kartarpur Mr. Surinder Pal and Sub Inspector Mr. Parminder Singh during which 500 gram heroin was recovered from personal kit of Nishan Singh and 500 gram heroin was recovered from black bag of Harpreet Singh.

Mr. Mahal said that during the preliminary investigation Nishan Singh (26) Nishan Singh (Aged about 26 years) revealed that three cases of snatching and ransom had been registered against him in Tarn Taran and he had came out from jail in year 2018 and since one month he was in business of drugs. Similarly, he said that Harpreet Singh (24) revealed that Nishan lured him for earning huge money through drug business.

The Senior Superintendent of Police further said that Shahkot Police was conducting checking near Davat Hotel at Shahkot when a person of foreign origin was seen coming from Malsian side. However, he said that after observing the Police the person returned and tried to flee away but was arrested after the Police chased him.

Mr. Mahal said that during the search of the handbag of person identified as Amaica s/o Shibbu Gaya r/o Lagos, Nigeria (Presently resident of Vitin Garden, Dwarka, New Delhi) 600 grams of heroin was recovered after which he was arrested and case was registered against him.

Similarly, the Senior Superintendent of Police said that the Shahkot Police had organized checking in front of SDM Office when two persons of foreign origin coming from Malsian side took a u turn and tried to run away.

He said that persons identified as Kane Michael s/o Michael r/o Acoba Ajejia, Lagos, Nigeria (Presently resident of Navada, Uttam Nagar, Delhi) and Aikvegvolve Anthony Mamaduvauvochoko s/o Abuchi r/o Akoba, Ajejia Lagos Nigeria (Presently resident of Navada, Uttam Nagar, Delhi) were chased and apprehended by the Police.

Mr. Mahal said that during search 265 grams heroin was recovered from Kane Michael and 260 gram Heroin was recovered from Aikvegvolve Anthony Mamaduvauvochoko adding that subsequently both were arrested and a case has been registered against them.

Likewise, the Senior Superintendent of Police said that the Police has also arrested Gurcharan Singh @ Kiky s/o Mukhtiar Singh r/o Geereana Well, Near Railway Station, Majitha from Alawalpur with 200 grams of Heroin.

The Senior Superintendent of Police further said that Police has recovered 88 kilograms of poppy husk from vehicle of also Jaila s/o Munshi Ram r/o Kingra Cho Wala and his wife Inderjit @ Jiti, which were into drug smuggling. However, Mr. Mahal said that both the accused managed to flee away.
