CAG Delhi defeated CRPF Delhi by a margin of 2-1 to secure three points in the league round of the 41st Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament. In the second match of the second day of the ongoing tournament at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar, the teams of Punjab and Sindh Bank Delhi and Indian Navy tied 1-1.
In Pool D Indian Navy gave a tough fight to Punjab and Sind Bank Delhi. Neither team could score in the first three quarters. In the 47th minute of the game, Aqib Rahim of Indian Navy scored a penalty corner to make the score 1-0.
In the 57th minute of the game, Santa Singh of Punjab and Sindh Bank converted the penalty stroke into a goal to make the score 1-1. As the match was tied, both teams got 1-1 points. Its 27 minutes of play was played yesterday evening while the rest of the match was played today.
Pool C saw a tough fight between CAG Delhi and CRPF Delhi. Deepak Malik of CAG Delhi scored a field goal in the 17th minute of the game to make the score 1-0. In the 28th minute of the second quarter of the game, Sharanjit Singh of CRPF made the score 1-1. In the 36th minute of the game, CAG Delhi’s Harish Mutagar scored a field goal to make the score 2-1 and win the match and earn three points.
Punjab Police and Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala teams played a match in Pool B. Olympian Rupinder Pal Singh, Olympian Akashdeep Singh, Olympian Gurbaj Singh, Olympian Dharamvir Singh, Olympian Gurjant Singh from Punjab Police demonstrated their game. During this match, Rail Coach Factory gave Punjab Police a tough fight.
