Actor Ranveer Singh once found himself featured on a photoshopped poster of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, thanks to his sister, who hoped to manifest his Bollywood debut years before he entered the film industry.
The Dhurandhar actor recalled the heartwarming incident during an appearance on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal.
Ranveer revealed that for his 23rd birthday, his sister created edited pictures featuring him on posters of Yash Raj Films, replacing Shah Rukh Khan’s face with his own on the poster of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and also featuring him on a Dhoom poster.
Recalling the gesture, Ranveer said, “For my 23rd birthday, instead of candles on my cake, my sister had made these small pictures and she had morphed onto posters of Yash Raj Films, Shah Rukh sir’s face was removed and my face was put on a poster of ‘Dil Waale Dhulaniya Le Jaaynege’ and ‘Dhoom’ and you know she I think had read this book called The Secret and the power of positive thinking and I took those pictures off the cake and I pin them up in my room and low and behold it came true so kudos to my sister.”
Ranveer made his Bollywood debut in 2010 with Band Baaja Baaraat, starring alongside Anushka Sharma. The film was produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, bringing his sister’s dream a step closer to reality.
Over the years, Ranveer has established himself as one of Hindi cinema’s prominent stars, earning recognition for his performances in films such as Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gully Boy. His latest success, Dhurandhar, has further added to his professional achievements.
With the success of Dhurandhar 2, the actor is enjoying a significant phase in his professional and personal life.
Ranveer and his wife, actor Deepika Padukone, recently announced the arrival of their second daughter. On September 19, the couple shared the happy news in a joint social media post featuring a tiny footprint and the message: “Welcome baby girl…19/9/2026…Dua, Deepika, Ranveer (sic).”
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Dua, on September 8, 2024.
