Lauding the endeavour of Punjab Government for announcing its own post-matric scholarship scheme for SC students, the Chabbewal MLA Dr. Raj Kumar on Tuesday described it as a historic decision of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, which would go a long way in securing higher education to the lakhs of Scheduled Castes students in the state.
While interacting with the media persons after culmination of the 6th state-level mega Job fair at district administrative complex, Dr. Chabbewal said that the BJP led NDA Government remained failed to safeguard the interests of Scheduled Castes students, which were now protected with the decision of Captain Amarinider Singh to introduced state’s own post-matric scholarship scheme.
He said that Centre’s to do away with the post-matric scholarship scheme and withholding the funds worth Rs. 1850 Crore under the scheme had put the future of poverty stricken students at stake.
He said that the State Government under the visionary leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh would ensure higher education to SC students at all costs, which reflected the commitment of Punjab Government for the welfare of students.
Thanking Captain Amarinder Singh and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for announcing the said scheme, Chabbewal said that with this decision lakhs of SC students would be able to continue with their studies besides securing their future too. Meanwhile, the MLA also appreciated the announcement of Captain Amarinder Singh to provide one lakh Government jobs to the youngsters by the end of next year.
