SGPC takes notice of dance inside Gurdwara Sahib in Ropar village, Jagir Kaur for action against guilty

Amritsar, September 30, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur has taken stern notice of the dance performed during a wedding ceremony at Gurdwara Sahib at a village near Ropar in violation of Maryada (code of conduct) and demanded action against the accused persons.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib would be appealed to take action in this regard and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ropar would also be asked to take strict action so that no one would further violate the Maryada of the Guru’s house.

SGPC President said that the honour of the Guru’s house has been harmed by dancing inside the pandal set up at the Gurdwara Sahib in a village near Ropar.

She said that videos have been sent to her by the Sangat, about which the SGPC is writing to the police administration of Ropar. She said that Sri Akal Takht Sahib would also be requested to take action in this matter.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that it is unfortunate that such a manmat (mind’s intellect against teachings of Sikh Gurus) had been conducted at Gurdwara Sahib, the center of Sikh preaching. She said that as per the information that has come to light Baba Gajidas Club President Davinder Singh Bajwa had committed this objectionable act and the SGPC will get complete information about this incident. She said that the culprits should not be spared at any cost.

SGPC to hold conference of pracharaks of all Sikh Missionary Colleges: Bibi Jagir Kaur

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur today held a meeting with the principals and representatives of the Sikh Missionary Colleges that produce pracharaks (preachers) for flourishing the Sikh faith and held a discussion with them about jointly taking forward the ‘Dharam Prachar Lehar’ (campaign to flourish Sikh faith).

During the meeting, Bibi Jagir Kaur urged the representatives of the colleges to play a supportive role in the ‘Ghar Ghar Andar Dharamsaal’ movement launched by the SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee (DPC), and all of them agreed and announced to provide services of the students of their respective colleges.

Notably, SGPC’s DPC had in the recent past launched a door-to-door campaign to spread Sikh faith in all the villages of Punjab, under which, Sikh faith is being preached in 200 villages simultaneously. Under this campaign, SGPC’s preacher stays in a village for one week and connect the Sangat (congregation) as well as Sikh youth and children with Gurbani and Sikh history.

To expand this campaign, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur held a meeting with the principals and representatives of the Sikh Missionary Colleges managed by the SGPC as well as those run by various Sikh organisations.

Bibi Jagir Kaur informed that as per the Sikh Rehat Maryada (code of conduct) approved by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, various Sikh Missionary Colleges are functioning which have rendered remarkable services in the field of preaching by producing a large number of preachers, raagis, and tabla players.

“It is now time to move forward jointly in the field of religious propagation, for which an important meeting was held. Every Sikh missionary body has expressed its commitment to support the SGPC and to contribute to the ongoing Dharam Prachar Lehar. Under this campaign, the Sikh faith is spread from door to door in every village of Punjab

. Now with the provision of services to be offered by the students of the Sikh Missionary Colleges, this campaign will be greatly expanded and it will be possible to reach villages on a larger scale instead of 200 at a time”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.

Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur also announced that in the month of October a conference would be organized for the students who have graduated from Sikh Missionary Colleges and this trend would be continued in the future also.

Representatives of 26 Sikh Missionary Colleges participated in today’s meeting and shared their views.

On this occasion, Bibi Jagir Kaur honored each representative with the Guru’s blessing Siropao (robe of honour).

In the meeting, OSD to SGPC President Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur, assistant secretary S. Simarjit Singh, honorary secretary S. Gurmeet Singh, Dr Chamkaur Singh, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal and others were present.
