SGPC takes note of disruption in Kirtan at Pakistan’s Gurdwara in Sukkur

Amritsar, July 1, 2023 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the act of mischievous elements of misbehaving with Raagi Singhs and forced disruption of Gurbani Kirtan at Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Sukkur city of Sindh province in Pakistan.

He said that this is a very unfortunate incident, the culprits of which should be given strict punishment.

Harjinder Singh Dhami also objected to the release of the accused persons by the police. He said that such bullying and excesses with minority Sikhs in Pakistan is not acceptable. The government of Pakistan should ensure the security of the minority Sikhs living there besides the Gurdwara Sahibs.

The SGPC President said that a case of murder of a Sikh shopkeeper had come to light in Pakistan’s Peshawar a few days ago and now mischievous elements have violated the Maryada (conduct) inside the Gurdwara Sahib. These incidents are alarming.

He said that the Government of India should take this seriously and seek action against the culprits. Harjinder Singh Dhami said that regarding the incidents against the Sikhs in Pakistan and other countries, the SGPC will soon approach India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S Jaishankar.
