A five-member panel of legal experts has been formed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to take legal action as per the order of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib in the murder case of Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke.
The panel formed under the leadership of Senior Advocate Puran Singh Hundal includes Punjab and Haryana High Court Advocate Puneet Kaur Sekhon, Jalandhar’s former District Attorney Advocate Baltej Singh Dhillon, Hoshiarpur’s former District Attorney Advocate Amarjit Singh Dhami and SGPC member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka. This information was shared by SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami in a statement issued from the SGPC office.
Harjinder Singh Dhami said that recently the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh had asked the SGPC to take legal action against the accused persons in the murder of Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke. Acting on this immediately, SGPC members Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka and Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal were sent to meet the family of Jathedar Kaunke and now a high-level legal panel has been formed in this matter.
He said that the SGPC will take firm action against the murderers of Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke.
Harjinder Singh Dhami said that this panel formed will take legal action after fully examining the IPS BP Tiwari report sent by Akal Takht Sahib. He clearly said that no laxity would be allowed in this case and exemplary action would be ensured.
