SGPC Chief Bibi Jagir Kaur inaugurates 7KW Solar Power Plant at Gurdwara Birh Baba Budha Sahib

SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur today inaugurated a 7 kilowatt (KW) solar power plant at Gurdwara Birh Baba Buddha Ji, Thahta, Tarn Taran. This solar power plant has been set up in collaboration with United Sikh Mission, USA.

On this occasion, Bibi Jagir Kaur said that with the setting up of this plant all the electricity cost of Gurdwara Sahib would be saved and spent for the convenience of the Sangat.

SGPC President said that with the generation of electricity from solar energy a pollution-free environment would be maintained.

She said that the SGPC is working to install solar power plants in every Gurdwara Sahib, under which plants have been set up at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Deep Singh, Sri Amritsar, and today at Gurdwara Birh Baba Buddha Sahib.

She said that in the near future the work of installing solar power plants in other gurdwaras would also be started.

On this occasion, Bibi Jagir Kaur also informed that a large capacity plant would be set up at Gurdwara Gurusar Satlani Sahib, Hoshiar Nagar, from where electricity would be provided to Sri Darbar Sahib. At the same time, work is being done in various gurdwaras to prepare langar by steam method.

On this occasion, the chairman of United Sikh Mission S. Rashpal Singh Dhindsa said that this service was a gift from Guru Sahib to his organization and he wanted to extend this service to other Gurudwaras. He thanked SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur.

Bibi Jagir Kaur honoured S. Rashpal Singh Dhindsa, S. Baldev Singh, S. NP Singh, S. Avtar Singh with Siropaos (robes of honour).
