Actress Sameera Reddy has opened up about her body positivity journey, revealing how she has transformed from feeling deeply insecure about her body in 2009 to embracing it with confidence in 2026.
The ‘Musafir’ actress shared in a recent social media post that her approach to fitness has changed over the years. She said her motivation now comes from within rather than a desire to seek validation from others.
Sameera also said she is no longer fixated on regaining her pre-pregnancy physique and has learned to accept her body as it is today, a change she believes has contributed to her newfound confidence.
Taking to her official Instagram handle, the ‘De Dana Dan’ actress wrote, “Super insecure in 2009. Super confident in 2026! What’s changed? Thought process, loving my body. Wanting to stay fit and be motivated for myself and not for others!”
“Embracing every stage. Every age. Im not obsessed with my pre pregnancy body. I welcome and accept a new version of my body now. And that gives me the freedom to be myself and is also where my confidence comes from today,” she added.
This is not the first time Sameera has spoken about body positivity. In September, she encouraged people to embrace their bodies without allowing others’ opinions to determine how they feel about themselves.
She shared a video on Instagram featuring words such as “plumpy”, “thicc”, “curvy”, “chubby”, “healthy”, “chunky” and “golu”, highlighting the different ways people describe body types.
Accompanying the video, Sameera wrote that everyone, regardless of their circumstances or stage of life, deserves to treat their body with love and acceptance.
“Whether you are a well-known personality, a young teen finding her way, a new mama, a woman seen year of judgement .. or just a person who needs to hear this – Your body listens and needs you to love it back irrespective of anything anyone has to say,” she wrote.
She also embraced the descriptions featured in the video, writing: “Words I love being called plumpy thicc curvy chubby healthy chunky golu.”
Through her posts, the actress has continued to share her perspective on self-acceptance, encouraging people to focus on their own well-being rather than external expectations.
