SAD Sanyukt demands expulsion of Sukhbir Badal from 11-member joint panel for release of Sikh prisoners

An important meeting of the key leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) was held here today. The meeting was chaired by S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa at the party headquarters. S. Dhindsa extended wishes on the Gurta Gaddi day of Miri Piri owner Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib. After this in detail discussions were held by the leaders over the issue of the problems being faced by the Panth. Meanwhile, senior party leader and Former Finance Minister S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa was also appointed as the party’s Chief Spokesperson.

S. Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) formed an 11-member committee on May 16 for the release of jailed sikh prisoners.

While, through media, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa had strongly protested citing that the SGPC should not involve politicians in religious activities.

In the Punjab Assembly elections, the Badal Dal has completely disintegrated politically and to re-establish their political ground, Sukhbir Badal has now suddenly started thinking of the Panth, said S. Dhindsa. Earlier, S. Sukhbir Badal had never bothered about the Panthic principles and had made no attempt to release jailed sikh prisoners when they were remained power in Punjab.

Sukhbir Badal intoxicated with power had termed those fighting for the panth as members of Pakistani agencies, terrorists and murderers. He said that the Badal family had a big hand in pardoning Bargadi Disrespect Incident, Behbal Kalan Goli Kand, Ludhiana Lohara Noor Mahal Incident and Dera Sirsa Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

In today’s meeting all the leaders unanimously accepted the statement of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. The stand taken by Baljit Singh Daduwal, President of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and Harmeet Singh Kalka President, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee to expel Sukhbir Singh Badal from the 11 member committee was appreciated.

Meanwhile, for the release of ‘Jailed Sikh prisioners’, Dhindsa was also given the authority to plan the next course of action. Dhindsa also urged the Punjab Chief Minister, S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to contact Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal to pave the way for the release of Davinderpal Singh Bhullar and Karnataka Chief Minister should also be urged to release Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera at the earliest.

In the meeting condolences were expressed on the sad demise of Senior Taksali Leader Jathedar Tota Singh and Amarjit Singh Satyal, Vice President Shiromani Akali Dal Sanyukt (Rupnagar).

Arjan Singh Shergill, Bibi Harjit Kaur Talwandi, S. Harpreet Singh Garcha, S. Harvel Singh Madhopur, S. Bhupinder Singh Bajroor, S. Gurjeevan Singh Sarod, S. Karamvir Singh Pannu, S. Sukhdev Singh Chakk, S. Hardeep Singh Ghunnas, S. Manjit Singh Bappiana, S. Pritpal Singh Handa, S. Rampal Singh Benipal, S. Gurcharan Singh Channi, S. Ranjit Singh Aulakh, Advocate Mahekpreet Kaur, S. Maninderpal Singh Brar and S. Dhindsa’s OSD S. Jaswinder Singh was present.
