Gidderbaha/Malout/Sri Muktsar Sahib, January 5, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the SAD had become the main political force in the Malwa belt following the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections and appealed to party workers to strengthen the party even further to bring it into power in the State in 2027.
The SAD president, who held a meeting with party workers at Gidderbaha, Malout and Sri Muktsar Sahib, also urged them to participate wholeheartedly in the party’s political conference in the forthcoming Maghi mela in Sri Muktsar Sahib, saying it would sound the bugle for the start of the informal election campaign of the party for the 2027 elections.
“Punjabis are coming together in large numbers to extend support to the SAD as was witnessed in the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections in which the Congress a distance third in the Malwa region, including Gidderbaha, the constituency from which Pradesh Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring contests the election”.
Making a frontal attack on chief minister Bhagwant Mann, the SAD president said the chief minister has disgraced his chair by handing over the State to looters led by Arvind Kejriwal who were following in the footsteps of the East India Company to loot Punjab to fill their own coffers.
Speaking about the recent Panchayati elections, Mr Badal said the Aam Aadmi Party used brute police force to intimidate SAD candidates in the Panchayati Raj polls to ratchet its victories in the polls.
These victories are of no value as they have been secured through use of force. People are realizing that the SAD alone represents regional aspirations and are uniting to support it wholeheartedly. I am confident that they will do away with any further experimentation which has put Punjab back by ten years and will support the SAD wholeheartedly.
Stating that the SAD was making a blueprint for the State, Mr Badal said “we are very clear. All sections of society will be taken along in the path to progress be it farmers, labourers, traders, businessmen, women, youth or State government employees. We are also clear that those who have ruined the financial condition of Punjab and indulged in scams and corruption will be held accountable.
At Sri Muktsar Sahib, ex MLA Kanwarjit Singh Rozy Barkandi, Manjinder Singh Bittu, Honey Fattanwala, Bobby Maan, Hira Singh Charewan, at Malout, ex MLA Harpreet Singh, Basant Singh Kang, and at Gidderbaha, Gurmeet Mann, Navtej Kauni, Gurdial Kaur Mallan, Charanjit Singh Bhunder and Gurvinder Singh, were prominent among others who attended the events.
