Congress activists and supporters from Punjab will overwhelmingly participate in the “Bharat Bachao” rally to be organised by the AICC in Delhi on December 14.
PPCC president Mr Sunil Jakhar today chaired a meeting here in this connection with ministers, MLAs, senior leaders, district presidents and other office bearers of party.
He said that the country was lagging behind in all sectors and every section of society was suffering due to Modi govt’s mis-rule. Cabinet ministers Manpreet Singh Badal, Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Bharat Bhushan Aashu, Gurpreet Singh Kangar and Razia Sultana were also present on the occasion.
Mr Jakhar said that the party was organising rally in Delhi to pressurize Modi govt. to take decisions in favour of common citizen and peasantry. “Unemployment, inflation, economic recession are the key issues faced by nation but NDA is running govt. with hollow and baseless claims instead of solving the basic problems. Farmers were not getting remunerative prices for their crops while the consumers are forced to buy fruits vegetables and other commodities at higher price, he said.
PPCC chief said that the union govt. neither had any policy nor intention or a will to redress public issues, each section of the society was badly affected due to the wrong policies. This was why the party planned a rally in Delhi to make the people of the country aware. A large number of people from Punjab would go to Delhi to raise their voice against the wrong policies of the central government.
Mr Jakhar said that the Modi govt. had illegally, arbitrarily withheld GST arrears of Rs 4100 crore of Punjab. This decision of the union government was against the federal structure of the country. By doing so, the central government was discriminating against Punjab, he alleged.
He said that due to Modi’s govt. irrational economic policies, the country was suffering from recession, abetting shut down of industry, business was being destroyed, employment opportunities diminishing, unemployment rising each day and none in the society could escape from ill effects of such wrong policies of Modi regime.
Mr. Jakhar motivated party leaders and office bearers to attend the Bharat Bachao rally in large numbers to play vital role in saving the country from Modi govt’s anti-peasantry, anti-poor and anti-industry policies.
