Punjab Police have booked popular Punjabi Singer Singga. An FIR in this respect has been registered against the singer and one of his associates. SSP Satinder Singh has confirmed the development.
The case is said to be of a video pertaining to March 2020 which was now uploaded on Social Media but later withdrawn after it created a furor.
The video said to be of 10th of March, 2020 shows Singga and his friend Jaggi going in their vehicle near Sohana Gurdwara Sahib. The video shows them flaunting a weapon and firing in the air while driving.
The SSP said that FIR number 294 dated August 16, 2021, has been lodged under sections 336, 34 IPC, and 25/54/59 of Arms Act at Police Station, Sohana against Manpreet Singh Singga resident of Mahalpur, District Hoshiarpur and Jagpreet Singh Jaggi resident of village Amargarh, District Sangrur.
According to the SSP, the case has been registered on the basis of their video getting circulated on social media where they have been seen brandishing weapon and firing in a public place and for uploading the same on social media.
