Punjab Government has ordered a Magisterial Probe into Attack by Cops on Indian Army Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son in Patiala on night intervening 13 and 14 of March.
The Department of Home Affairs Punjab has ordered an inquiry by an Executive Magistrate into the incident which happened on the 13th night near Rajindera Hospital, Patiala.
IAS Paramvir Singh Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patiala has been appointed as Inquiry Officer and asked to submit a probe report within 3 weeks.
However, Jaswinder Kaur Bath, wife of Col Pushpinder Singh, and other members of the family, who Thursday met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria to seek justice, rejected the probe saying that it won’t be a fair probe. The family is demanding a CBI inquiry into the incident.
SSP Nanak Singh had suspended 12 cops including 3 Inspectors, accused of attacking and mercilessly beating the father-son duo. The family, however, has maintained that the SSP has not made the names of 12 cops who have been suspended.
