Punjab Govt organizing camps for elderly under ‘Saade Bazurag Saada Maan’ campaign: Dr. Baljit Kaur

The Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development in Punjab has initiated a series of special camps for the welfare elderly “Saade Bazurag Saada Maan” campaign. This was expressed by Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur.

Divulging in this regard, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that “Saade Bazurag Saada Maan” campaign for the welfare of the elderly was launched from Faridkot district on October 3.

Accordingly, health camps have been successfully organised at the district level in Moga, Ludhiana, Muktsar Sahib, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Barnala, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Tarn Taran.

Minister informed that more camps to be organized in Jalandhar on November 8, SBS Nagar on November 10, Hoshiarpur on November 13, Kapurthala on November 15, SAS Nagar on November 17, Patiala on November 20, Rupnagar on November 22 and Fatehgarh Sahib on November 24.

During these district-level health camps, elderly citizens will receive complimentary services, including comprehensive geriatric check-ups, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) examinations, eye check-ups, distribution of spectacles and eye surgeries. Free medications will also be provided to the elderly during these camps. The initiative also includes the issuance of senior citizen cards and assistance in filling old-age pension applications.

Minister informed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, such efforts are being initiated by the Punjab government to provide basic facilities to every resident of the state who is above the age of 60 years. She said that the state government is fully committed to the welfare of the elderly.

Dr. Baljit Kaur motivated senior citizens to participate in these events, ensuring that they benefit from this valuable opportunity to receive essential care and support. The Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, is wholeheartedly dedicated to the well-being of the elderly.
