Actress and digital creator Prajakta Koli has opened up about her transition from online content creation to films, revealing that when she worked on JugJugg Jeeyo, her biggest concern was winning the hearts of audiences who bought tickets to watch her.
Speaking on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s show Double Date, Prajakta reflected on how the community she built online has given her confidence in professional settings, even as she remains grateful for the opportunities coming her way.
Recalling her experience of working on JugJugg Jeeyo, which featured a prominent ensemble cast, she said she was not preoccupied with whether her co-stars would approve of her performance.
“In most rooms I walk in with a bit of confidence because of my community online. I don’t want to say this without humility, but I am very grateful for the work. When I was doing JugJugg Jeeyo, it was my biggest film, with bigger people and a great star cast. Mere dimaag mein ye thought nahi tha ki hope they like me or not. (The only thing I had in my head if the people would like me or not),” she said.
Explaining her priorities, Prajakta added, “My thought was that everybody who buys tickets for me should also love me, without taking away anything from Anil sir, Neetu ma’am or Kiara.”
She also recalled the warmth she received from her co-stars, including Karan Johar, Maniesh Paul and Varun Dhawan.
The episode also marked Prajakta’s first appearance on Double Date with her partner, Vrishank. The couple shared anecdotes about how they first met, how their friendship developed into a relationship and who proposed first.
They also discussed how they navigate their respective professional lives while supporting each other’s ambitions.
