Play supportive role in Qaumi affairs instead of creating dispute over issue of Guru Ramdas Niwas: Adv Harjinder Singh Dhami

Amritsar, August 8, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief secretary Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that a sub-committee is being formed on the issue of Guru Ramdas Niwas (sarai) by the SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur, to decide on the work to be done on its maintenance.

Advocate Dhami said that in the past the deteriorating condition of this Sarai (inn) had been discussed by the SGPC but no decision was taken to demolish it.

“Most of the rooms of Guru Ramdas Niwas are not in livable condition and no devotee was willing to stay here. In such a situation, repair of this Sarai is needed. As this was an urgent matter, it was considered on a priority basis on the orders of the SGPC President, but further action will be taken in accordance with the Qaumi (community’s) sentiments”, said Advocate Dhami.

He said that the work would be done as per the report of the sub-committee being formed by the SGPC.

SGPC chief secretary said that the issue of Guru Ramdas Niwas should not be disputed but a supportive role should be played in the Qaumi affairs. He said that this issue has to be resolved seriously and the SGPC is working for the same.
