The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed Nilabh Kishore, IPS 1998 Batch (currently posted as ADGP STF Punjab, Shahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), as Police Commissioner of Ludhiana.
Earlier in the day ECI had ordered to remove IPS Kuldeep Chahal as Police Commissioner of Ludhiana asking the government to assign him non-election duty.
A letter has been sent to the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab by ECI in this regard.
