Srishti Choudhury, a Ph.D. scholar from the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded the prestigious “Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Fellowship-2024” by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Under the guidance of her advisor Dr Beant Singh, Principal Entomologist, Choudhury’s research focuses on the “Characterization and molecular mapping of Rhopalosiphum padi L. resistance in Aegilops tauschii Coss. derived hexaploid wheat lines.”
This recognition underscores the potential of her research in enhancing the knowledge in agricultural science, particularly in the field of host plant resistance in wheat against aphids.
The INSPIRE fellowship is awarded to exceptional young researchers to foster innovation and excellence in scientific research across India. The duration of the fellowship is five years.
