In protest against the undue delay in adoption of revised pay scales and revision of pensions by the State Government, PAU Teachers Association and GADVASUTA today held dharna at Flag post.
The government has already notified the implementation of 7th UGC pay scales for traditional universities and college teachers of the state in September, 2022 through the department of Higher Education. However, even after five months, the teachers of PAU and GADVASU have not been given the revised pay scales.
Dr H S Kingra, President and Dr Mandeep Singh Gill, Secretary, PAUTA warned the State Government to implement the pay scales for PAU and GADVASU teachers at the earliest otherwise we will be compelled to protest against the State Government on the day of Sarkar-Kisan milni which is scheduled on 12th February,2023 at PAU Campus where large numbers of farmers from the state are expected to participate.
Dr Harpreet Singh and Dr APS Brar from GADVASUTA also addressed the protesting teachers. The dharna was also supported by the retired teachers of PAU and GADVASU.
