In her post, Avneet conveyed how reconnecting with nature helps her find balance and inspiration. Sharing series of her images by the ocean, Kaur wrote, “For her, the ocean was more than a dream, it was a place she needed to visit to find herself.

And when she returned to the city, You could see the sun in her eyes, the wind in her hair, and taste the infinite salt on her lips. #waterbaby #takemeback.”

Fake ‘acid attack’: Delhi Police gives clean chit to 3 ‘accused’; woman, kin under scanner for staging incident

New Delhi, Oct 28, 2025
Delhi Police has given a virtual clean chit to a painter and two others accused by a woman of throwing acid on her in North Delhi’s Ashok Vihar last week, Special Commissioner of Police Ravindra Singh Yadav said on Tuesday.

Yadav expressed satisfaction over preventing injustice being meted out to the three “innocents” as the alleged attack has turned out to be an incident staged by the complainant woman and her family to settle scores with the “suspects”.

Yadav told IANS that technical analysis, CCTV footage and physical evidence proved that the three accused were not at the spot where the alleged “acid attack” took place on October 26 near Laxmi Bai College.

“It has turned out to be a case of old enmity related to a plot owned by the father of the woman who levelled false allegations of ‘acid attack’ on the accused,” he said.

The Special Commissioner of Police said the investigation is still underway but prima facie the conspiracy was hatched by the 20-year-old woman, her father, brother and uncle to try and implicate the three men in a false case of “acid attack”.

The two families have a history of litigation and criminal complaints against each other.

Investigators also revealed that the “acid attack” victim’s father Akil Khan, 45, now under custody, was accused of sexual harassment by the painter Jitender’s wife a few days before the October 26 staged episode of ‘acid attack’.

Yadav said the police are seeking legal opinion on the next step as the matter involves two separate issues.

“One, is the ‘acid attack’ and, the other, is the allegation of rape against the father of the ‘acid attack’ victim,” he said.

Yadav said, “For the time being, it is a matter of satisfaction for the police to have foiled the conspiracy by the woman’s family to implicate three innocent people.”

He said the police will now consider acting against the woman’s family for filing a false case.

Yadav said an investigation is still on to verify the woman’s statement that she and her family members had carried toilet cleaner from home to stage the ‘acid attack’ and subsequently report at a hospital with ‘acid attack burns’ on her hands.

The Special Commissioner of Police said they will soon share details of the alleged roles played by the family members of the woman in staging the ‘acid attack’ and attempting to implicate painter Jitender and his two aides, Ishan and Arman.

Yadav said in matters related to crimes against women the police promptly register a case on receiving a complaint and this is what happened in this matter. A case under Sections 124(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered as FIR No. 605/2025 on the woman’s complaint which named the three ‘suspects’.

However, investigations revealed that the allegation against the three “acid attackers” were false and they were physically not present on the spot where the incident was staged, the police said.(Agency)

If Surya gets some runs, he can completely destroy the opposition, says Parthiv Patel

Suryakumar-Yadav-Indian-Cricket

New Delhi, Oct 28, 2025
As India prepare to face Australia in a high-stakes T20I series as part of preparations for next year’s T20 World Cup, former wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel believes it will be very beneficial for the visitors if captain Suryakumar Yadav rediscovers his form and ends his lean run with the bat.

Widely regarded as one of the most destructive batters in the shortest format, Suryakumar has faced a challenging period – as evidenced by him scoring only 72 runs during India’s victorious Asia Cup campaign in the UAE.

In 2025, Suryakumar has scored just 100 runs across 11 innings and hasn’t made a fifty in his last 14 T20Is. Since taking over the captaincy last year after Rohit Sharma’s retirement from the format following the T20 World Cup win, Suryakumar has accumulated 330 runs in 20 matches, which is concerning for a player of his calibre.

“More than the personal thing, I feel it’s important that Surya finds form for the team. Basically, we know what he can do as a batter. If he gets runs, he can completely destroy the opposition. So from that point of view, I feel that if Surya gets some runs, it will be very helpful for the team,” Patel, a JioStar expert, told IANS during a virtual media day ahead of the first T20I, to be played at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on Wednesday.

India are coming on the back of winning their last nine bilateral T20I series and have won seven of their past eight games against Australia in the shortest format, including a current three-game streak against the Mitchell Marsh-led side.

For most Indian batters, how they adapt and respond to the extra bounce that Australian pitches offer, especially with significantly larger boundaries, would make for a fascinating watch. Patel believes India should stick to their aggressive batting style that has consistently brought them success.

“I don’t think India needs to change their approach at all. You change your approach or try to rectify something if it has gone wrong. I think India has been playing fantastic cricket in the last few years, especially in this format. So, I don’t see India needs to change anything. I know the conditions are different. You just have to get used to the conditions and keep backing yourself,” he said.

Drawing parallels with India’s series win in South Africa last year, Patel elaborated, “See, when you are playing in Australia, obviously, the new ball seems to swing a little more than it usually does. But another thing is that this Indian team played in South Africa with the same approach and also performed well there. So that adjustment is only of the bounce.”

“With the grounds being big, you will have to see where and how you would use its big boundaries. When you are playing in small grounds, you will have to see where there is a small side so that big shots can be bit there. All those things, when you go to the ground, you look at the dimensions and make adjustments accordingly. I am sure this Indian team is as prepared as they can be to make those adjustments.”

In the Asia Cup, vice-captain Shubman Gill returning to the top and partnering with Abhishek Sharma meant wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson was moved to number five. Although he was sometimes tentative, Samson demonstrated signs of adjusting to his new batting position through a vital 39 in a Super Over victory over Sri Lanka and 24 in the final over against Pakistan.

Patel concluded by saying that Samson can be expected to deliver good performances in Australia as a number five batter. “We saw in the Asia Cup how the Indian team was thinking in terms of giving confidence to Sanju Samson that he can bat at number five. He is adjusting; there is no doubt about that, and we saw that too. But hopefully, after the Asia Cup, you will get to see Sanju perform even better here in this series.”

Bus operated by Air India’s ground handler catches fire at Delhi Airport; no injuries reported

fire-broke photo

New Delhi, Oct 28, 2025
A bus operated by AI SATS, a third-party ground-handling service provider for Air India, caught fire near bay number 32 at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 (T3) on Tuesday morning.

According to multiple reports, the incident took place just a few metres away from an aircraft.

Fortunately, no passengers were onboard the bus at the time of the fire. The blaze was quickly brought under control by the airport fire team, and no injuries or damage to nearby aircraft were reported.

“In a stray incident, a bus operated by one of the Ground handlers caught fire around noon today. Our expert ARFF team on ground immediately swung into action and extinguished the fire within a couple of minutes,” Delhi Airport said while responding to a passenger’s query on social media platform X.

“The bus was stationary and fully vacant at the time of the incident. There were no injuries/casualties. All operations continue to be normal. Safety of our passengers and staff remains paramount to us,” they added.

However, a query sent to AI SATS went answered while writing the article.

The incident comes amid a series of recent operational disruptions faced by Air India. Earlier this month, a US-bound Air India flight from Mumbai to Newark had to return shortly after take-off due to a suspected technical snag.

On October 22, Air India said that the crew of flight AI191 operating from Mumbai to Newark made a precautionary air-return to Mumbai due to a suspected technical issue.

“The flight landed safely back in Mumbai, and the aircraft is undergoing necessary inspections,” according to Air India spokesperson.

In another case, a Delhi-bound flight from Milan was stranded following a technical issue, leaving over 250 passengers stuck overseas before the airline arranged a relief flight.

However, the airline claimed it had extended all immediate assistance to affected passengers, including hotel accommodation and meals.

“Full refunds or complimentary rescheduling were also offered as per passenger preference,” the airline stated.(Agency)

King shares how he navigates path between creating music, and it becoming ultimate cult

Rapper King

Mumbai, Oct 28, 2025
Singer-songwriter King, who is known for viral hits like ‘Maan Meri Jaan’, ‘Tu Jaana Na Piya’, ‘Tu Aake Dekhle’, and others, has shared how he navigates the time between making a music, and the song turning a cult later much later in time.

The singer spoke with IANS during the promotional run of his new streaming music reality show ‘I-popstar’, on which he serves as one of the mentors.

Talking about how he fuels his passion, while waiting for the song to become a big hit, he told IANS, “It’s an open space. Suppose I made a song. Let’s talk about the song, Tu Aake Dekhi Leki. I released it in September, I don’t remember the year.

I think it was around 2021. I dropped it in September. And after 7-8 months, it became a hit. Now, I didn’t know what was going to happen after 7-8 months. So, I was working on my music as a routine. So, the navigation is to put your head down and keep doing your work. A song finds its place. It chooses its time. It’s all about that. You just make it. It travels according to itself”.

He further mentioned, “Yes, you should be smart with your work. No artiste is that stupid. They know what they’re making. But they don’t know what’s going to happen.

This is honesty. I recently dropped one project called ‘Shayad Koi Na Sune’. And those songs, if they’re released in a different way, with a different packaging, they’ll work differently. But my aim was to name an EP as ‘Shayad Koi Na Sune’. And it went like that. When you listen to the songs, it’s so personal. And you’ll think, why isn’t everyone listening to these songs? It happens sometimes when you have different things in different places”.

“That’s just a small way for me to show that when you put different things in a different room, no matter how good the thing is, it doesn’t hit like that. And the life of those songs is 20 years. I can say this now. I can perform them till old age”, he added.

‘I-popstar’ is available to stream on ‘Amazon MX Player’.(Agency)

Enrique Iglesias: Returning to India was always a priority

Enrique Iglesias

New Delhi, Oct 28, 2025

A whiff of nostalgia is set to hit, as the voice that ruled the Bluetooth playlists and MP3 players of every millennial is returning to India. Global Latin sensation Enrique Iglesias is all set to perform in the country once again after over a decade and he says it has always been his “priority to come back”.

It was in 2004, when Iglesias first came to India and again in 2012. He is now set to perform in Mumbai in October.

Iglesias told IANS exclusively that “there was no hiatus” and revealed what made now the right time for his return.

“There was no hiatus; it just takes time between albums and touring around to other countries to make it back over there. But it has always been a priority to come back, and I could not be more thrilled,” Iglesias told IANS.

Talking about India becoming a significant player in the global music conversation, the singer, who has earned the title of “King of Latin Pop”, shared his take on the evolution and said that he couldn’t be happier.

“It was bound to happen, and I couldn’t be happier. India has such amazing fans. They have such a great respect and appreciation for music. I must also point out how incredible the fans are when I perform in India. The energy it’s extraordinary,” said Iglesias, who was born in Madrid, Spain.

Iglesias went on to hint that there may be a collaboration brewing with an Indian artist.

Asked if he would ever consider collaborating with Indian artists or incorporating Indian sounds into your music, he said: “I am always open to ideas, and you never know — it could already be in the making.”

India is a country rich with musical heritage with classical, folk, indie, and Bollywood. Has any of these sounds influenced Iglesias creatively or inspired curiosity as a musician?

“I am influenced by everything and anything I hear to some degree…every single day,” pat came the reply from him.

Iglesias agrees that in the last 13 years, India has changed a lot and shared that he is forward to “the people, and of course, the food”, apart from his performance, which will take place on October 29 and October 30 in Mumbai promoted by EVA Live.

Ever since he began his musical journey in 1995, Iglesias has belted out timeless hits like Bailamos, Hero, Escape, Addicted, Rhythm Divine, Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You), I’m a Freak, and Dirty Dancer, to name a few that once echoed through Walkmans, crackled on FM radios, and filled the mix CDs of every 1990s kid.

Asked if he still gets the same thrill stepping onto the stage as he did early in his career, or has his relationship with performing changed, Iglesias, whose estimated sales is over 100 million albums worldwide, said: “Not only that, but I still get nervous before every performance. Those things never seem to change.”(Agency)
