The National Health Mission employees, who are constantly struggling to get their services regular, today conducted a rally in the constituency of Chief Minister Punjab in the Grain market of Chamkaur Sahib. A fury rally was held against the claims and announcements of the Punjab government. Slogans were raised by NHM employees in front of the Chief Minister’s election office.
During this rally, while interacting with the press, Dr. Inderjit Singh Rana, President of NRHM Employees’ Association and Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, President of NHM Employees Union jointly said that while on one hand the employees working in the Government Health Department have been given the title of Corona Warrior; On the other hand, govt is refusing these employees regularization or equal salary for equal work and is only wasting time by holding frequent meetings.
Far from listening to the demands of the workers who have been on strike for the last 50 days, the government is forcing these employees to return to work by intimidating them. The leaders made it clear that no employee will return to his duty until the government gives a meaningful solution to the demands of the employees.
Sukhjit Kamboj and Amarjeet Singh from NHM Core Committee said that now with the arrival of the third wave of Covid, the government is badly facing the shortage of NHM employees, while the government is not serious about their demands at all. The policy prepared by the government to regularize 36000 employees is just an election gimmick;
The National Health Mission cadre has also been kept out of this policy by calling it a scheme of the central government, which is completely unfair to these employees. Appealing to the Chief Minister, they said that the Chief Minister himself should immediately show seriousness towards the demands of the National Health Mission employees and if any meaningful solution is not found, otherwise the employees will be forced to stage a permanent dharna in front of the Chief Minister’s office to give more intensity to the struggle.
He and his ministers will be opposed during any government program. Along with this, no employee will give his services during Covid. On this occasion, while marching fury by the NHM employees, Ardas was done in Gurdwara Shri Katalgarh that the Supreme should give understanding to the Punjab Government to accept the legitimate demands of the employees. In today’s rally, state committee members, district heads of different districts and a large number of National Health Mission employees participated.
