Newly built Jora and Gathrhi Ghar inaugurated at Sri Darbar Sahib in presence of Jagir Kaur, others

A newly built Jora and Gathri Ghar (shoe and cloak house) developed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the convenience of the Sangat arriving at Sri Harmandar Sahib was inaugurated today after prayers in the presence of SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur and others.

The Jora and Gathrhi Ghar near Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall were developed by the SGPC through Kar Sewa Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale.

Speaking on the occasion Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Sri Harmandar Sahib is the spiritual center of all mankind where millions of pilgrims from all over the world come daily to pay obeisance.

She said SGPC is constantly working for the convenience of the Sangat and accordingly, the SGPC in association with Kar Seva Bhuriwale has expanded the Jora Ghar and Gathri Ghar for the Sangat.

She said that this modernly designed shoe house has the capacity to keep the shoes of about 20,000 pilgrims and at the same time, the Sangat can visit Sri Harmandar Sahib by depositing their belongings in the Gathri Ghar.

On this occasion, Bibi Jagir Kaur honoured Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale and others with the Guru blessings Siropao (robe of honour).

Among those present during the inauguration included granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib Giani Balwinder Singh, SGPC general secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, chief secretary Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and some executive committee members and members and officials.
