Navpreet Kaur named captain of the Punjab Hockey team for participating in the 12th Hockey India National Senior Women’s Hockey Championship, strated at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) on May 6
According to Olympian Balwinder Singh Shammi, a member of Hockey Punjab’s ad-hoc committee, duly appointed after the suspension of Hockey Punjab by the Hockey India which is the Apex body for hockey in India that Navpreet Kaur will lead Punjab in the 12th Hockey India National (Senior Women) to be held at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) from May 6 to 17. Shallu Maan of Patiala will be the vice captain of the team. The other players of Punjab Hockey team are Kamaljit Kaur, Jyotika Kalsi, Sheria Mishra, Meenakshi, Sanjana, Kirandeep Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Mahima, Rupinder Kaur, Yashika Negi, Simran Chopra, Salika, Chandanpreet Kaur, Rashanpreet Kaur, respectively. Kirandeep Kaur and Sarabdeep Kaur.
Commonwealth Games medalists and international players from Railway Coach Factory Kapurthala, namely Yogita Bali and Amandeep Kaur have been appointed as the coach and manager of the team respectively while Jagroop Singh will be the assistant coach of the team.
