Navjot Sidhu to be honored as “Fakhar-e-Kaum” and “Indian Diamond”: Dr Tanda

Navjot Singh Sidhu will be honored by the ‘World Punjabi Sahitya Peeth’ and the NRI World Organization for his achievements in Kartarpur sahib corridor, and for his other achievements with the highest awards as “Fakhar-e-Kaum” and “Indian Diamond”: Dr Tanda said. The decision was taken yesterday.

Dr Tanda said that former Minister of Culture and Tourism Affairs, Navjot Singh Sidhu, has contributed to Punjabi culture and art at the international level. Earlier, Navjot Singh Sidhu has also been appointed by the ‘World Punjabi Sahitya Peeth’ as a patron.

Dr. Amarjit Tanda, Director of the World Punjabi Literature Peeth, Advisor to the Central Punjabi Writers’ Association and Convener of the NRI Word Organization, has issued a note in the press at Rosehill Sydney.

Dr Tanda said that Navjot Singh Sidhu has also been the Parliamentarian of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat. After retiring from sports, he first started doing commentary on Doordarshan and Cricket and then started actively participating in politics. In addition to politics, he has made television appearances on the television screen as an artist.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was born in Patiala district of the Punjab state of India. From 1983 to 1999 he was a cricketing player; After retiring from cricket, he was given a Lok Sabha ticket by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He tried his hand at politics and was elected to the Parliament from Amritsar’s Lok Sabha seat in 2004 on a BJP ticket.

He was made a Rajya Sabha member in 2016 but in July 2016 he resigned from the Rajya Sabha seat and then from the Minister of Culture and Tourism Affairs of Punjab.

Dr. Tanda said that during the inauguration of opening of the Kartarpur corridor Sidhu praised the Pakistani Prime Minister and his dear friend Imran Khan and praised the Prime Minister Mr Modi. While giving a speech, Sidhu has made another demand from Imran Khan, in which he is demanding Khan to fulfill his dream, or open the border.

Sidhu said that my dream is to open all the borders and I want someone from Amritsar to eat saag and corn bread in the morning and arrive in Lahore in the afternoon, come here to eat biryani and then return after trade. That’s my dream, no fear, no fear.

Sidhu further said in his address that the one who gave a boost to Baba’s crossing was of Lakh and the one who got interrupted is zero. In addition to this, Sidhu also sent a ‘Munna Bhai’ hug to Modi during his speech.

Dr Tanda said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan gave special honor to his friend Navjot Singh Sidhu who arrived at the inauguration ceremony of Kartarpur road. Imran first met Sidhu with a hug. Interestingly, Imran asked the people there, “Where is our Sidhu?” Imran’s video is going viral on social media. I say our sidhu.

Dr Tanda said that there was a flood of pilgrims with Sidhu at Kartarpur. Thus, out of the political arena for a long time, Sidhu made a re-entry on November 9. As they began their address at the opening ceremony of the Kartarpur intersection, the devotees started chanting slogans of Navjot Singh Sidhu at ‘Bole So Nihal’.

In their 16-minute talk, Imran shared 10-12 shares for Imran. On this occasion, only Sidhu was the topic of discussion among all the guests.

Dr Tanda said that before the Sidhu started traveling to Pakistan via Kartarpur intersection, the present sangat was warmly welcomed by him. In the evening, when they reached Dera Baba Nanak after a visit to Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, people shouted in favor of Sidhu at the intersection. People also shouted shouting at Sidhu as a representative of peace.

Dr. Tanda said that with the advice of Navjot Singh Sidhu, ‘World Punjabi Literature’, India will also hold Indo-Pak border cultural fairs in both countries to relieve the tension along Pakistan’s border.
