Panchkula, October 31, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The father of a six-year-old girl who was allegedly brutally assaulted with a brick by an eight-year-old boy inside a government school in Panchkula on Saturday said his daughter was in critical condition and that a delay of even a few minutes in getting her medical attention could have proved fatal.

Speaking to IANS, the father, Rashid, said his daughter Ramsha, a kindergarten student at a government school in Sector 20, is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

“My six-year-old daughter Ramsha studies at a government school in Sector 20. The boy took her and committed such a horrific act. He beat my daughter very brutally. This should not have happened,” Rashid said.

Appealing for prayers for his daughter’s recovery, he said, “My daughter is currently in the ICU. I request everyone to pray for her recovery. May God bless her with good health.”

According to Rashid, the incident took place when teachers were not present in the vicinity. He said one teacher was reportedly unwell and the school was operating during the festive season.

Recounting the sequence of events, Rashid said Ramsha was standing near the school gate when the boy approached her and told her that her father was calling her upstairs. The boy then allegedly took her to a room on the upper floor.

“She asked him why he had brought her there when her father was not there,” Rashid told IANS.

He alleged that the boy then assaulted the girl and repeatedly banged her head against the walls. After she became unconscious and was covered in blood, he allegedly dragged her and struck her in the face with a brick.

“Her condition was so critical that even a delay of a few more minutes could have proved fatal,” Rashid said.

Recalling the moment he was taken to his injured daughter, the father said he was devastated by what he saw.

“When a few children took me to my daughter, seeing her condition, I screamed and started crying,” he said.

Rashid described the incident as unfortunate and reiterated that teachers were not present nearby at the time. He said the absence was reportedly linked to the festive season and one teacher’s illness. He also claimed that the assault took place when no one was present near the CCTV cameras.

Police officials visited and inspected the school following the alleged assault. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
