More than three hundred National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of various colleges and ITIs participated in the B- Certificate Examination of NCC conducted by Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU), Bathinda in the Campus.
The cadets of various institutions falling in the districts of Bathinda, Mansa, Budhladha, Giddarbaha and Malout appeared for various categories of exams like written test, Weapon Training, Map reading and Drill Test.
While interacting, Col A K Sood, the Commanding Officer (CO) of 14 Punjab BN NCC, Nabha, who was the Commandant for this exam told that NCC cadets of infantry units of 20 Pb Bn and horse units of 2 Pb R & V squadron were participating and would appear for theory as well as practical components of this exam. He appreciated the arrangements made by the university for the Conduct of this exam.
The 2nd in command (2 I C) of this exam, Col Harbind Parmar, Administrative officer of 14 Pb Bn, made elaborate arrangements for invigilation duties by putting various Professor Incharge, Staff and ANOs (Associate NCC officer) on duties. He informed that B Certificate examination is the necessary conditions for appearing in the next higher level exam of C Certificate, which is essential for getting preferences in the recruitment in Armed forces and other civil placements.
Capt. Rajeev Kumar Varshney and Lt Vivek Kaundal, ANOs of the university arranged all infrastructure facilities in the university for the smooth conduct of this exam under the detailed guidelines issued by Col K S Mathur, CO of 20 Pb Bn NCC.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu affirmed that university is all time ready for the service of nation and it promotes its students to take NCC, as it teaches the students to have self discipline and feelings of patriotism.
