MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla met Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria yesterday. He told the Governor in detail about the problems coming in the development of Amritsar. MP Aujla said that these problems are becoming a hindrance in the development of Guru Nagri.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla informed Governor Gulab Chand Kataria about the issues in writing. He said that Urgent action is required on these for the well-being and progress of Amritsar and its surrounding areas. These measures are necessary to address security concerns, economic challenges and overall development of the region. He urged that he requests intervention to expedite action on these matters.
The problems highlighted included tackling the drug issue and drone threat, reopening of India-Pakistan border trade, operationalize of ICP scanners, economic package for border belt industries, expansion of airport cargo handling, increase in air connectivity, improvement in medical facilities, development of IIT sector hub, city traffic management and up gradation of infrastructure, addressing environmental hazard of Tung Dhab drain, resolving Bhagatwala dumping issues, shifting of ammunition dump at Wala, timely lifting of farmers’ crops, need immediate solution.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that Amritsar is a border area where facilities are very less but at the same time there is a lot of tourists, so if these problems are solved here, the city can move ahead like metro cities. For which immediate intervention is needed.
