Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Ludhiana Central, Ashok Prashar Pappi, has arranged a bulletproof vehicle for himself after being advised by police authorities to remain cautious and vigilant regarding his security.
Sources said the legislator took the step as a precautionary measure following inputs from security agencies. His overall security cover has also been enhanced as part of routine threat perception assessments.
MLA Says No Direct Threat Received
Speaking to media persons, Ashok Prashar Pappi clarified that he had not received any direct threat but confirmed that the police had advised him to exercise caution in his movements.
He said the authorities have asked him to avoid crowded public places and to keep the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) informed about his movements so that appropriate security arrangements can be ensured.
“I have been advised to remain alert. However, I am not someone who gets intimidated easily. I belong to Punjab, the land of the Gurus, and I will continue to serve the people fearlessly,” he said.
Personal Precautionary Step
The MLA has himself arranged the bulletproof vehicle as an additional personal safety measure. Security agencies periodically review threat perceptions and advise public representatives accordingly to ensure their safety.
