Maruti Suzuki India’s SUV FRONX has crossed 2 lakh exports in less than 38 months, making it the fastest SUV from India to achieve the milestone, the company said on Tuesday.
Exports of the Made-in-India FRONX began in June 2023. The model crossed its first 1 lakh export mark in less than 25 months and reached the second lakh in just about 13 months, reflecting growing demand in international markets.
Manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, the FRONX is currently exported to nearly 90 countries, including Japan.
“Every vehicle exported by Maruti Suzuki carries the hard work and pride of our people. These vehicles take a piece of Indian manufacturing to nearly 120 countries. FRONX has been a key contributor to Maruti Suzuki’s success in exports,” said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India.
Takeuchi said the FRONX’s rapid progress from 1 lakh to 2 lakh exports highlights its increasing acceptance in global markets and reflects the strength of India’s manufacturing ecosystem under the “Make in India, Make for the World” vision.
Maruti Suzuki said it has remained India’s leading passenger vehicle exporter for five consecutive years, exporting 17 models to nearly 120 countries.
The company added that the FRONX has been India’s top exported passenger vehicle since FY 2024-25. In the first quarter of FY 2026-27, the company’s leading exported models included the FRONX, Jimny 5-Door, e VITARA, Dzire and Baleno.
Together, Maruti Suzuki’s exports accounted for more than 55 per cent of India’s passenger vehicle exports during the quarter, according to the company.
