The Aam Aadmi Party has launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the violence in Manipur and Haryana. Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Finance Minister in the Punjab government Harpal Singh Cheema said that atrocities are being committed on children, women and tribals in BJP ruled states and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent instead of addressing the issues or taking any action. The Modi government has gone deaf to the screams of the women and to the cries of the children.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on Thursday, Harpal Cheema said that today the atmosphere created under the BJP government has embarrassed India at the world level.
He said that law and order has completely failed in Manipur. Torment of women is happening on a large scale. Now the BJP ruled state Haryana is also on fire like Manipur. Around 100 people were injured and six died. But the Prime Minister did not say anything on these issues. This clearly shows that a big conspiracy is being hatched to break the country. The BJP government is complicit in breaking the mutual brotherhood of the people of the country.
Cheema said that the BJP has proved to be a complete failure in stopping the violence in Haryana and Manipur. The law and order system has broken down in all BJP ruled states. Violence continues unabated in Manipur. People are pitted against each other. But no effort is being made by the government to restore peace in the state.
He said that Manipur has been burning for the last three months. The entire opposition is demanding answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the Prime Minister has no time to address the issue. Every day 50 to 70 notices of suspension of business are being submitted in Parliament on Manipur, but the government is not ready to debate.
Citing the incidents of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, Cheema said that just a few days ago, a heart-wrenching news had come out from Madhya Pradesh in which a tribal man was first mercilessly beaten up and then urinated on his face, but the BJP government did not learn any lesson. A similar incident also happened in the BJP ruled Uttar Pradesh. This is happening because extremists are being given protection by the government in BJP ruled states.
