Manish Tewari asks BJP what it did with ‘4-engine’ govt for 10 years

The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) candidate from Chandigarh, Manish Tewari today asked the Bharatiya Janata Party what it had done for the city during the last ten years when it had a four-engine government.

Addressing a series of meetings and speaking during public interactions, Tewari pointed out, there was the BJP’s Home Minister, the Governor as UT administrator, the MP and the Mayor all from BJP. Plus, he added, “there was another ‘toy-engine’ in Sanjay Tandon as city BJP chief for 8 years tagged along”.

The former union minister said, it is time they tell what they have done for the city and mention one single achievement if they really have any. “Do not tell us what you are going to do, tell us what you have done in the last ten years”, Tewari asked the BJP, particularly the party candidate Sanjay Tandon who was the UT BJP president for eight years during this period.

The senior Congress leader said, the Congress has a proven record of taking welfare measures, which touch the common man and make a difference in their life.

Asserting that it is the Congress which has built up massive infrastructure across the country, he pointed out, it was the Congress that built and developed Chandigarh into a modern city known across the globe for its beauty. He said, the institutions set up in Chandigarh like the PGI and the Panjab University are globally known.

He pointed out, the Congress has bequeathed such a great city to the people and promised that it will improve the infrastructure and add further to its beauty.

Tewari was accompanied by the Chandigarh Congress president HS Lucky, AAP leader Dr SS Ahluwalia, former Mayor Surinder Singh and other senior leaders of the two parties.
Tewari also conducted a ‘pad yatra’ (foot march) in the Burail area, which was organized by Vijay Rana.

He also addressed a citizens’ meeting organized by the AICC member Pawan Sharma in Sector 38.

He addressed a public meeting in village Raipur Khurd, organized by block president Harbhajan Singh.
