In a significant initiative to promote natural forest locations of Ludhiana, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana, Himanshu Jain, IAS, and State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu, unveiled an exquisite documentary film, pictorial visuals, and brochure titled “Journey Through Panoramic Forests of Ludhiana.” dedicated to World Forestry Day 2025, which aims to showcase the breathtaking forest landscapes of the Ludhiana district, inspiring nature enthusiasts and promoting eco-tourism.
The meticulously curated pictorial and documentary compilation, spearheaded by State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu in collaboration with the Chief Conservator Forest Punjab & District Administration Ludhiana highlighting the untouched of forest reserves of Ludhiana , Mattewara Forest, Garhi Fazil Forest, Neelon Forest, New Haider Nagar Forest, PAU Forest, and Halwara Forest.
These visuals provide an immersive glimpse into the district’s lush greenery, diverse flora and fauna, and tranquil natural ecosystems, highlighting hidden ecological gems that have remained largely unexplored.
While unveiling the pictorial works, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, IAS, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the World Forestry Day 2025 theme, “Forests and Food,” underscoring the vital role forests play in sustaining biodiversity and livelihoods.
He further noted that the pictorial brochure and documentary serve as a valuable resource for fostering public appreciation of Ludhiana’s green landscapes, encouraging environmental consciousness, and promoting the district as a potential eco-tourism destination.
Speaking on the occasion, State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu stated during the event held at District Administrative complex Ludhiana that he has dedicated his pictorial compilation to State of Punjab which aims to highlight natural forest locations of Ludhiana and call to action for conservation and expressed hope that this initiative would inspire citizens to recognize and preserve the natural sanctuaries in their vicinity while fostering a deeper respect for environmental sustainability.
