The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Kisan Wing president and MLA from Kotkapura, Kultar Singh Sandhwan in a statement issued from the party headquarters on Sunday said that the ministers of Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, no longer had the right to speak and talk about ‘religion and gurus’.
He said that the Congress leaders had taken false oaths to get the votes of the gullible people and later gave up the oath as soon as they got seat and power; thus hurting the feelings of the people. The AAP leader said that earlier the Badal-led Akali Dal used to solicit votes from the people in the name of religion and after seizing power, forgot everything.
Sandhwan said that Badals, who were seeking votes on religion, continued to loot the people and build their property. “Like Badals, the Congress is misleading on the basis of religion. Congress leaders are resorting to religion to bake their political bread.
Captain Amarinder had taken oath of Sri Gutka Sahib, but later recanted,” he said. He further asked whether Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa would tell what happened to the promises he had made to the Sikh community by going to Bargari and Kotkapura.
“What happened to the disrespect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and the promise to send the culprits of martyred Sikhs behind bars. Or they have recanted, continuing the tradition of their Chief Minister on retracting from promises after taking oath,” said Sandhwan.
He further said that Randhawa, who was blaming others, should respond to the promises he had made to the people by holding religious books in his hand. He should apologize to the people for playing with their feelings in the greed of sitting on the chair by taking false oaths, added Sandhwan.
Taking further dig at the Captain-led Congress government, he asked Randhawa to ask the Chief Minister why he had not taken any action against the Badal family till date. He said that Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa had told the assembly, when he himself had admitted that his government failed to punish the culprits of the Bargari incident and had asked Captain Amarinder that justice should be served.
“Why has he backtracked now? The Congress which calls itself a secular party was in fact playing a double standard. When the Congress leaders feel that their seat is now in danger, they do not shy away from playing the religious card like the Badals,” said Sandhwan.
He said that the fact of the matter was that the Aam Aadmi Party was stinging in the eyes of the Congress ministers as the AAP was raising the issues of the people and exposing the Congress and the BJP in the court of the people.
The AAP leader said that for a long time now, the Captain-led Congress government had been acting like BJP’s ‘B’ team by cheating the farmers. “Captain Amarinder Singh himself has been serving Modi-Shah, due to infatuation for his son, and now his ministers have also joined in, so that those who speak against BJP could be targeted,” he added.
Sandhwan said that under this policy, Congress minister Randhawa, at the behest of Captain Amarinder Singh, was making false statements against the Aam Aadmi Party, so that the AAP gets confused and does not speak against the BJP.
The AAP leader said that the Chief Minister and his ministers may be compelled to betray the people of Punjab along with the BJP, but the Aam Aadmi Party has stood by the people from day one and stood up against the dictatorial Modi-led central government. The voice will keep getting louder, he added.
