“Following the instructions of the Centre, the Governor of Punjab is conspiring against Punjab and the Punjab Government and the opposition parties of Punjab are also supporting him in this. On the suggestion of the leader of the opposition, the governor refused to use ‘my government’ and said only ‘government’ which is unconstitutional, and then being the governor of Punjab, he openly advocated for Haryana’s share in Punjab University. But unfortunately, the opposition parties and their leaders didn’t raise any questions about this serious issue. They claim to be pro-Punjab but they all sided with the governor.”
The above statement came from the Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Chief Spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang, who was addressing a press conference with party spokesperson and chairman Neel Garg at the AAP Punjab headquarters in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Recently answering a query of a journalist, the governor said that he never referred to the Punjab government as ‘only government’ in his address during the last session of the Punjab legislative assembly.
Kang exposed the lies of the governor and shared a video with journalists from that address. He also requested the Governor Punjab to maintain the dignity of his constitutional position.
With the reference of the video, Kang said that the Governor of Punjab are constantly plotting against Punjab and the Punjab government on the instructions of the Centre. The opposition parties are also supporting him in this. Kang questioned whether Governor Sahab, who has visited various places in the state including the borders of Punjab and presents himself as Punjab’s benefactor, can ever question the central government as to why it has withheld money of the RDF and National Health Mission. The Center is constantly pushing Punjab, but the Governor of Punjab does not have the courage to say anything against the Modi government.
Questioning the Governor’s visits, Kang said that big border state Gujarat or states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh where there are BJP governments and from where large consignments of drugs are being seized, Dalit girls are being raped and killed every day, but still the governors there do not have the courage to say anything, but the Governor of Punjab find an excuse to do politics every day.
Lambasting the opposition parties of Punjab, Kang questioned why these parties who claim to be pro-Punjab did not say anything when the governor held a press conference on the issue of Punjab University recently and advocated for Haryana’s share. In this matter, why didn’t Bajwa, Sukhbir Badal or Majithia say anything? Concluding Malvinder Kang said that actually the Governor of Punjab, the opposition parties are conspiring against Punjab on the behest of the Centre. Punjabis need to beware of these duplicitous liars.
