Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility for Abohar Showroom Owner’s Murder in Chilling Social Media Post

Abohar, July 7, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

In a shocking escalation of gang violence in Punjab’s Malwa region, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has publicly claimed responsibility for the broad daylight murder of Sanjay Verma, a prominent businessman and co-owner of the popular ‘New Wear Well’ showroom in Abohar.

Verma, widely respected in the local business community and known for his custom-tailored kurta-pajamas, was gunned down around 11:00 AM on Monday as he stepped out of his car to open the showroom located at Bhagat Singh Chowk on Circular Road. According to eyewitnesses, two to three armed assailants were waiting for him and opened fire at close range. Verma died on the spot.

The attackers reportedly fled on a motorcycle, later abandoning it and escaping in a car parked nearby. The incident was caught on CCTV, and Fazilka SSP Gurmeet Singh confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to identify and capture the culprits.

Later in the day, a chilling (but yet unverified) social media post from a profile linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang surfaced, claiming responsibility for the attack. The message, posted under the name Aarzoo Bishnoi, and attributed to gang members Goldy Dhillon, Aarzoo Bishnoi, and Shubham Lonker from Maharashtra, stated:

“We called him regarding some matter but he declined to recognize us. We got him gunned down, so that people come to know who we are. He supported our enemies. Whoever goes against us will be reduced to dust.”

The post ended with a defiant declaration:

“Whatever we do, we take responsibility. Whether it’s murder (302) or attempt (307), we stand by our actions. Keep watching—fake goons will be stunned.”

Verma’s brother Jagat Verma, who was undergoing treatment in Mohali at the time, expressed shock, stating that the family had never received any threats or ransom demands.

The brazen killing has sparked widespread fear and outrage in the city. Local shopkeepers shuttered their businesses in protest, demanding swift justice and immediate action to restore law and order.

With the gang’s open admission, pressure mounts on law enforcement to act decisively. The case has once again brought attention to the growing influence of organized gangs in Punjab and the urgent need for coordinated crackdowns.

Police have stepped up surveillance and security in the region, and sources say that high-level teams are tracking digital footprints of the accused to bring them to justice.
