The Commissionerate Police Jalandhar have successfully recovered a kidnapped two-year-old child and reunited him with his parents, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to public safety and community well-being.
The incident unfolded on April 11, 2025, when a woman, Meena Kumari, reported the abduction of her son from near their residence in Preet Nagar, Ladhewali Road, Jalandhar.
According to the First Information Report (FIR No. 27), registered at Police Station Division No. 4, Jalandhar, Meena Kumari was approached by a man and a woman on an Activa scooter around 1:30 PM.
The suspects, feigning to be polio vaccinators from the Civil Hospital, persuaded her to accompany them with her child. Upon reaching the hospital premises, the duo deceitfully took the child and fled.
IPS Dhanpreet Kaur, Commissioner of Police (CP) Jalandhar detailed the swift and decisive action taken by the police.
A comprehensive investigation was immediately launched, leveraging technical teams and intelligence resources to track down the perpetrators. Crucially, extensive examination of CCTV footage from various locations played a vital role in the investigation.The relentless pursuit and mounting pressure exerted by the police investigation led the culprits to abandon the child near his residence. A police team promptly recovered the child, confirming he was safe and unharmed.
CP Jalandhar confirmed that after completing all necessary legal procedures, the child was safely reunited with his overjoyed parents. She emphasized that the accused will be apprehended soon, and the investigation remains ongoing. “Public safety and well-being are our top priorities,” she stated, reiterating the police’s dedication to protecting the community.
