As part of the ongoing “Watan Ko Jano” initiative (6th Kashmiri Youth Exchange Program), organized by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, a delegation comprising 132 Kashmiri youth visited prominent landmarks of the Tricity region today.
The program is being hosted at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Sector-67, Mohali.
The participants, representing six districts of the Kashmir Valley, undertook an educational exposure visit aimed at promoting national integration and enhancing their understanding of India’s diverse cultural and historical heritage.
During the visit, the delegation explored several sites of historical, cultural, and environmental significance. The youth visited Fateh Burj at Chappar Chiri, where they were apprised of the region’s rich Sikh history and the architectural grandeur of the monument. The group also visited the internationally acclaimed Rock Garden, appreciated the floral diversity at Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, and experienced the tranquil surroundings of Sukhna Lake.
In addition, the participants visited Sector 17 Plaza, gaining firsthand insight into Chandigarh’s well-planned urban infrastructure, cleanliness, and vibrant public life, which they widely appreciated.
District Youth Officer Ms. Isha Gupta stated that the “Watan Ko Jano” program being conducted at NIPER, Sector-67, aims to familiarize Kashmiri youth with the diverse cultural fabric of India while strengthening the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”
She further added that during the six-day program (March 24–29, 2026), participants are actively engaging in educational and cultural exchange activities, enabling them to emerge as ambassadors of peace, harmony, and national integration.
