The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) general secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, questioning the understanding of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Harmeet Singh (HS) Kalka that by doing politics on the sensitive issue of sacrilege, he is misleading the community.
He said that seeking resignation from SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, following yesterday’s incident of sacrilege in Behrampur village in the Gurdaspur district is equal to politicizing the sacrilege incidents. He said that HS Kalka should have this understanding that the responsibility of Gurdwara Sahibs outside the management of the SGPC is with the local committees.
“The management of the Gurdwara Sahib, where the incident took place in Behrampur, is not with the SGPC, but HS Kalka is misleading people. The Governments are being directly supported by HS Kalka by making irrelevant comments about the Sikh body SGPC. HS Kalka is doing this to please his political masters. Harmeet Singh Kalka should pass the baton under his cot. His tenure as president of the DSGMC is associated with many controversies”, said Bhai Grewal.
He added that before raising questions on the unblemished and Panthic personality like Harjinder Singh Dhami, HS Kalka should take a look at his functioning.
Bhai Grewal said that HS Kalka has shown his real face by going against the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, in the case of commemoration of the Martyrdom Day of Sahibzadas by the Centre Government as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, the terminology has not been accepted by the Akal Takht Sahib and the SGPC. Moreover, under their management, the anti-Sikh activities held in a Khalsa college have remained in the discussion.
“HS Kalka is directly answerable for conducting RSS activities in this college”, said Bhai Grewal.
Bhai Grewal advising HS Kalka said that the DSGMC is an important Sikh organization, and the people sitting on its constitutional position should not make irresponsible statements.
